Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Adani Transmission Ltd (down 5%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 1.78%),Adani Power Ltd (down 1.1%),GE T&D India Ltd (down 0.83%),Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (down 0.52%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were JSW Energy Ltd (down 0.39%), and NLC India Ltd (down 0.2%).

On the other hand, Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 4.35%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 3.45%), and Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (up 2.95%) turned up.

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 381.61 or 0.77% at 50043.37.

The Nifty 50 index was up 143.95 points or 0.97% at 14963.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 243.74 points or 1.14% at 21537.14.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 66.7 points or 0.95% at 7091.25.

On BSE,1921 shares were trading in green, 891 were trading in red and 153 were unchanged.
