Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Transmission Ltd (down 5%), Thermax Ltd (down 2.25%), K E C International Ltd (down 1.7%), Adani Green Energy Ltd (down 1.48%), and Adani Power Ltd (down 1.1%), were the top losers.

On the other hand, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 4.9%), Siemens Ltd (up 2.36%), and Tata Power Company Ltd (up 1.87%) moved up.

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 381.61 or 0.77% at 50043.37.

The Nifty 50 index was up 143.95 points or 0.97% at 14963.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 243.74 points or 1.14% at 21537.14.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 66.7 points or 0.95% at 7091.25.

On BSE,1921 shares were trading in green, 891 were trading in red and 153 were unchanged.
